The new EQS 53 arrives in the Mercedes catalogue, one of the largest and most muscular cars from the German company which strikes fear into the hearts of the cars of competing companies
After the announcement of the Mercedes CLA AMG, yet another surprise arrives from Mercedes, namely the EQS 53. This AMG version does really scared, it is powerful and wild and is dedicated to all lovers of the top in terms of performance and driving pleasure. The car has aerodynamic appendages that are barely noticeable, as is the small spoiler at the tail. In length measures 522 cm while the 22-inch wheels reveal the car’s attention to aerodynamics and efficiency. The Declared Cx is just 0.23.
But how big is the Mercedes EQS 53?
In short words: this car exudes power from every pore with its 658 HP and 950 Nm of torque. There are two electron motors: one on the front axle and the other on the rear, which makes all-wheel drivewith the torque distribution adapting 10,000 times per minute. If that wasn’t enough, there’s the Dynamic Plus package with Race Start mode which cranks the power up to 761 CV and in this case the car snaps from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches 250 km/h. Without the package, however, it doesn’t change much, it reaches this speed in 3.8 seconds. The seats are real armchairs with integrated headrest and think that it also has various types of massage, so you can relax as much as possible while driving. There are also many screens: a 12.3-inch glass pane on the dashboard, a 17.7-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the passengerwho can enjoy a movie during the journey.
Inside there is also a lot of space, even for those on the rear passenger side. THE holders are practicalincluding the basin created under the front part of the tunnel. To enter you use a tailgate which lifts electrically, facilitating access to a trunk 620 liters. Thanks to the all-wheel drive there is no lack of grip, which makes the work done by the front wheels feel good, but this is also thanks to the steering which is nice and solid and does not lack precision. The thrust obtained by pressing the accelerator at medium-high speeds is impressive: you can overtake in an instant. Not only that, there is also the Sound Experience AMG which adds a simulated background sound that changes depending on the driving mode and style.
An enveloping and ultra-comfortable interior
For those who have an handle and are very skilled at driving, but above all if there is a track available, it is also possible exclude ESP, freeing the EQS 53 from electronic control. Among the options there is theAMG Track Pace, an on-board telemetry software that integrates the MBUX infotainment system. Also available carbon ceramic brakes, with front discs with a diameter of 440 mm. It seems obvious to us to say it, but with the Mercedes EQS 53 we can count on the systems assisted driving more advanced. What makes this electric car incredibly easy to handle is the mix between adaptive suspension with pneumatic shock absorbers and rear wheel steering. Below 60 km/h, these orient themselves by up to 9 degrees compared to the front ones, increasing the agility of the vehicle, while at higher speeds they increase stability.
But the suspension makes the car even more flexible, in fact in sport modes they almost completely eliminate body roll, while in comfort modes they travel on velvet. L’soundproofing it will make you forget you are in a car. There battery has a capacity of 107.8 kWh and can ensure aautonomy of 580 km. The battery can be recharged with the fast charging up to 200 kW and in that case it is possible to restore autonomy up to 300 km in just 15 minutes. In alternating current regeneration, however, the car can connect to 11 kW stations while the system can connect to 22 kW ones. Another very interesting thing is the function Electric Intelligence of the navigator, which activates automatically heating or cooling the battery in advance of the charging stopso as to recharge it in more ideal conditions and much faster.
