A horrifying fate we’re happy to accept: the darkest Zelda ever is coming to Nintendo Switch Online, with no crazy wait

The positive sides of the news are two: the first is that the dropper of the Kyoto giant has finally started running again, while the second is that in February one of the main series conceived by Shigeru Miyamoto will boast all its first five exponents on the same platform.

Let’s talk about The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, in the pipeline in February on Nintendo Switch Online. The game is still known as one of the darkest chapters in the series, similar to its “colleague” Twilight Princess. Another aspect that has given the game further notoriety is the merciless cycle of its development, which lasted only one year thanks to a skilful recycling of many assets seen in Ocarina of Time the year before. In the game, we will have to repeat a three-day loop to save the kingdom of Ends: a parallel and distorted version of the familiar Hyrule. We will also have the opportunity to wear masks to draw the powers of the many ethnic groups present in the game, including the Deku, the Zora and the Goron. The wait will be of an unspecified duration, but at least we know that next month the additional package will give players an additional incentive to open their wallets.
