The latest financial data from Nintendo has shown that units sold of all hardware in the Nintendo Switch family have surpassed the total of PS4 – an incredible record
With the end of 2022, Nintendo has revealed the financial data for the last nine months and, despite the global crisis that the sector is facing, they are very good. At the hardware level, the company has announced that the family of Nintendo Switch has sold 122.55 million units as of December 31 last year, thus officially surpassing PS4 by 5 million units. In the ranking of the best-selling consoles of all time we find Nintendo DS with 154.02 million units sold and PlayStation 2 with 155 million.
Sales figures for first-party software have also been updated: the best-selling title ever remains Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 52 million copies sold, followed immediately by Animal Crossing: New Horizons (41.59 million) and Super Smash Bros Ultimate (30.44 million). Among the surprises in the standings we find Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with its 20.61 million copies sold. In short, a bellsoa figure, but we would never have expected less from a chapter of the most loved franchise ever.
