The Big N's dish could cry more than expected in 2024: Nintendo says goodbye to this year's Gamescom, in favor of “other” events
If you think of the currently “quietest” company on our site, Nintendoand the world's largest physical event for the gaming industry, Gamescomit will surely come to mind Switch 2but unfortunately for the2024 edition of the Cologne fair the Colossus of Kyoto responds in spades. Despite being something “central in the company's calendar of events”, as reported by a representative of the European branch on the German site Games Wirtschaft, in the end the latter decided “after careful considerations” to skip the convention entirely in favor of “other events in Germany” to try out the games. The end of E3 caused one certainty to collapse, and now with this case of textbook “thermometer on the radiator” another one is no longer there.

No Nintendo Switch 2 for the moment: the Big N is canceling Gamescom 2024
Nintendo's constant appearances at Gamescom in the past make the escape from the 2024 edition truly unusual, but probably strategic retreat it deals with. In the midst of the “late 3DS” phase, unfortunately, the software is scarce in favor of the silent wait for Switch 2, presumably arriving next year. The long-awaited reveal of the console therefore skips the German stage in August, although in the last edition the crimson giant (presumably) showed the hardware to developers and publishers behind closed doors. The same “sickness notice” also reached Eurogameralways alluding to “careful consideration from all points of view” and the other possibilities of trying games “at other events.”
