Nissan Formula E team and Caio Collet: the team’s welcome

Tommaso Volpe, CEO and team principal of the Nissan Formula E Team, immediately showed himself to be very satisfied with this new purchase, with a view to strengthen the team more and more. Here are his words:

I am delighted to welcome Caio to the team for 2024. The role of reserve driver and simulator is extremely important for many reasons. His feedback from the simulator will have a significant impact on our seasonal development and therefore our performance throughout the year. Caio’s profile as a driver fits this role perfectly.

He is a young talent with extensive single-seater experience and his time with the Alpine Academy has shown us his potential to make a positive impact this season. He has already shown promising signs, quickly adapting to new technologies on key Formula E systems, including energy management. With the skills he has, I can’t wait to see him grow as he works with the team throughout the rest of the season.

Caio Collet: the enthusiasm of being part of a great project

Caio Collet, reserve driver and simulator of the Nissan Formula E Team, for his part, did not take long to express all his enthusiasm and a deep gratitude for having been involved in such an important project. His words clearly reveal a great emotion:

I am very happy to have the opportunity to work with Nissan during this season. This is a team with strong Formula E credentials, as well as being a highly respected brand globally. When I first entered the simulator, I was shocked by how different Formula E was to other series, both in terms of technologies and the driving style required to maximize performance. It is an exciting challenge and I am very grateful to the Nissan Formula E Team for this opportunity. I believe the experience will make me a more complete driver, helping me in my professional growth.

Oliver, Sacha and the whole team have already welcomed me, made me feel at home, and I look forward to developing my relationship with them. Like all Formula E drivers, they are extremely competitive and professional, so I can learn a lot from working with both of them. Now, my main goal is to perform to the best of my ability and help the team maximize results during the rest of the season.
