The Nissan Leaf e + has passed the tests of the Green NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) with full merit, which gave it the highest award, namely the five stars.
Created to promote the production of clean and energy-efficient cars, the Green NCAP awarded the Nissan Leaf e + a series of excellent scores in its three test parameters, to support the model’s wide-ranging sustainability credentials.
The zero-emission Leaf e + received a perfect rating in the first two assessments after undergoing real and laboratory testing to rigorous standards to assess air pollution, greenhouse gas production and energy efficiency.
Top marks in testing for the Nissan Leaf and + from Green NCAP
The Leaf e + received 9.9 out of 10 for its remarkable energy efficiency performance, highlighting the intelligent design of the 62 kWh all-electric powertrain and its unique e-Pedal with regenerative energy technology.
Marco Fioravanti, Region Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan AMIEO, said: “Since its launch in 2010, Nissan LEAF has made the sustainable mobility dream of hundreds of thousands of customers around the world a reality.” Dave Moss, Region Senior Vice President, Research & Development, Nissan AMIEO, added: “The maximum five-star rating awarded to LEAF and + by Green NCAP is recognition of Nissan’s product quality and expertise in electrification. I thank all the Research and Development team for making this success possible ”.
The Leaf e +, which is the culmination of 10 years of model development, offers customers a complete mix of efficient electric power and advanced driver assistance systems.
Its 62 kWh powertrain delivers up to 385 km of autonomy with the combined cycle WLTP, while the innovative e-Pedal allows the driver to accelerate, decelerate and stop with a single pedal, maximizing efficiency while driving.
The driver can further improve energy efficiency through the vehicle’s B mode and Eco mode. These work together to maximize regenerative braking, optimize power and conserve energy, offering comfort and safety even on long journeys.
