Despite being conceived as a six-episode limited series, a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is by no means out of the question, even according to the protagonist Ewan McGregor himself
Actor Ewan McGregor sent Star Wars fans into raptures in 2022, reprising his role as iconic Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in a TV series that arrived exclusively on Disney+. Although this was conceived as a mini-series limited to 6 episodes, and a continuation of the story has been categorically ruled out in the past, there would be chances that a second season will be produced. From the moment we finished filming the first season, Ewan was already ready to put on the table possible ideas for a second season. He is pushing for it to be done. The story of Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars – Revenge of the Sithin which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat yet: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalkerwho turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.
The possible second season confirms the success of the series dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi. On the other hand, she had been the president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy to talk in the past about the possibility of seeing Obi-Wan in other projects of the franchise:
I always struggle to say no definitively. Maybe Obi-Wan will be incorporated into other stories we’re doing or into a movie, who knows? But for now Obi-Wan Kenobi remains a standalone series and there are no plans for an expansion
In short, no certainty so far but without doubts the possibility of seeing the beloved protagonist again in other projects related to the franchise cannot be excluded.
