A new TV series entitled “One Day” will be out soon Netflix. The platform has just released the official trailer. This TV series is based on the novel of the same name born from the mind of David Nicholls and published in 2009. Known in Italy with the title “Un giorno”, it already had a film adaptation in 2011, starring Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway. Being a series with strong romantic overtones, Netflix saw fit to launch it close to Valentine’s Day. In the meantime, those who know the novel and have seen the film can watch the first previews in the trailer.
One Day, the Netflix original series: plot and cast
What will he talk about One Day? Mainly about the twenty year long love story between Dexter Mayhew e Emma Morleyplayed respectively by Leo Woodall e Ambika Modstarting from the first time they meet, that is July 15, 1988. The plot of the TV series will start from this unforgettable meeting. After having each taken their own path, the two protagonists meet every July 15th, where they will talk about the vicissitudes in their lives up to that date. Each episode will tell the life of the two protagonists during the year apart, the successes achieved, the substantial changes, the disappointments and the joys.
Written by Nicole Taylor, winner of the BATFA, will see different directors directing: John Hardwick, Luke Snellin, Kate Hewitt and Molly Manners. Produced by Jude Liknaitzky, Roanna Benn, Nicole Taylor and David Nicholls, there will be 14 episodes in total. As previously mentioned, the two main protagonists will be played by Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod, who have worked in TV series such as The White Lotus, This Is Going To Hurt and I Hate Suzie. Among the other protagonists we find Essie Daviswho will play Dexter’s mother, Eleanor Tomlinson in the role of Sylvie, Amber GrappyTim McInnerny, Joely Richardson Joely Richardson.
