On the occasion of the International Day of Women in Engineering, which marks one year since the global partnership between Plan International e McLaren Automotivenew research has shown that the 61% of female students would like to see more engineering roles entrusted to women.

The study, commissioned by Plan International e McLaren Automotive, was published on the occasion of the International Day of Women in Engineering. Her goal is to emphasize the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers for girls.
The research also found that the 75% of female students are interested in a STEM career; however, over 27% said she was concerned about not be totally up to it to learn this type of subject.
McLaren presented the research while the 14-year-old Amelie, a Plan International activist and a STEM enthusiast, unveiled a exclusive design ed McLaren Artura hybrid supercar original. For this project, Amelie collaborated with Ella Podmore and the Senior Designer Max Shkinder. The young woman then put the finishing touches on the supercar by placing the famous McLaren logo on the hood.
International Women’s Day in Engineering also marks the first year of the global partnership between Plan International and McLaren Automotive. This collaboration has the goal of to sustain, strengthen e inspire the next generation to reach and express their potential. Together, Plan International and McLaren want to tackle the gender stereotypes.
McLaren’s commitment
McLaren is committed to organizing educational workshops for 1,000 girls by 2025.
The company carried out the first workshop together with Plan International last week, at the McLaren headquarters, with the participation of Ella Podmore. Here, the students were tested with one set of exercises to test their aptitudes and hone their skills.
