OnePlus has finally released the expected update to Android 14 for its first foldable smartphone, OnePlus Open. The update brings with it numerous new features and improvements, both in terms of efficiency and cross device connectivity, safety and performance. Let’s see them in detail.
OnePlus Open: what’s new in Android 14
The first news concerns Aqua Dynamics, a new interaction mode that lets you see up-to-date information on weather, calendar, notifications and more at a glance. On the cross device connectivity front, OnePlus has improved Shelf adding more recommended widgets, which can be used to quickly access frequent features or apps. Shelf is a side screen that is activated with a swipe from the right edge of the screen.

With regard to security and privacy, OnePlus has improved permission management for photos and videos for more secure access by apps. Additionally, it added the ability to hide sensitive notifications when the screen is folded or flipped.
