Onyx Boox Nova3 Color: officially announced

Onyx has recently announced the new Onyx Boox Nova3 Color, 7.8-inch color Ebook-Reader with e-Ink display based on the new Kaleido Plus technology

The Chinese company will launch the new Onyx Boox Nova3 Color soon in the USA at a list price of approx 420$. While there is no difference from an aesthetic point of view to its monochrome panel counterpart, we have a display here Kaleido More, namely the latest iteration of e-Ink color screen. The latter guarantees excellent visibility in sunlight compared to any other LCD or OLED screen, combined with the ability to reproduce up to 4096 different color shades.

But let’s take a closer look at what Boox Nova3 Color has to offer from the hardware point of view:

It will therefore be possible to underline or create small artistic works using a palette with 16 colors. It should be noted that the PPI (pixels per inch) density is 300 for monochrome content, while it drops to 100PPI for color ones. In terms of connectivity, nothing is missing, in fact thanks to the Bluetooth 5.0 we will be able to listen to our favorite music through wireless earphones, or take advantage of its integrated speaker. The module is also present WiFi 802.11ac dual-band to connect to the internet and be able to use all Google services. Thanks to the operating system based on Android 10 it will also be possible to use any application from the Play Store as well as make voice calls using the microphone integrated into the device.
