Oppo’s commitment to the environment begins already in packaging. In fact, he recognizes the principles “3R+1D”which involve the use of recycled, recyclable and biodegradable materials. Since 2019, plastic in smartphone packaging has dropped by 95%. And for plastic materials that for the moment cannot be replaced, Oppo has chosen a biodegradable material: polylactic acid. Furthermore, 45% of the packaging in our European market uses recycled fiber.
Oppo is also committed to increasing the life of the product, with solutions such as the Battery Health Engine. This allows you to keep the battery at 80% even after 1600 charging cycles. But when you really need to change your smartphone, Oppo puts into practice a trade-in service. In this way, in China he recycled more than 1.2 million phones.
Oppo also adheres to the Eco Rating Labeling Scheme program, to evaluate smartphones in five key areas: durability, resource efficiency, repairability, recyclability and climate efficiency.
In addition to the environmental commitment, sustainability reaches 360 degrees. In fact, the company has launched projects in the idigital inclusion, health and wellbeing and youth empowerment.
