Oppo Pad Neo review: a tablet really for everyone?

A package arrives in the editorial office, we open it, look at the product and understand who can take care of the review.
This system, which we apply punctually, however, has a limit: it is always one of us who takes care of the test, we who do it for work and who often expect a lot from the devices. And often our “a lot” does not correspond to what users normally do.
So we decided to do a little experiment: we got it Oppo Pad Neo and we gave it to someone who is far away from this world.

The features of Oppo Pad Neo

However, before telling you his impressions of the latest tablet from the Chinese company, we will tell you about its main features.

Oppo Pad Neo if presented with an aluminum bodywith the back that is partially made of plastic lucida and which goes a little to liven up the design of the product. In the center, in the upper band, we find the 8 megapixel main camera which is more suited to scanning documents than capturing high-quality images. Understandable considering that for this type of activity we prefer smartphones, which are much more powerful on this front.

We find the same room on the front, on one of the long sides, and is excellent for managing video calls. The rest of the space is occupied by the edges – quite thin – and obviously by the 11.4-inch display with an aspect ratio of 7:5, which involves an interesting increase in space that can be used for multitasking. We then have a resolution of 2408 x 1720 pixels, a peak brightness of 400 nits, an NTSC color coverage of 96% and the Circadian Friendly and Full Care Display 2.0 certifications from TÜV Rheinland for the ability to respect users' eyesight.

Along the edges we have the power button, the volume rocker, four Dolby Atmos speakers and the SIM slot.

Under the body we have the MediaTek Helio G99 processor with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and an 8000 mAh battery con SuperVOOC da 33W.
Finally, connectivity is entrusted to the USB-C connector, WiFi 5, GPS and Bluetooth 5.2 while the operating system is ColorOS 13.2.

“It could definitely do more than I do,” our unusual tester explains.
The feeling, he tells us, is that his daily activity, based on web browsing, social media, streaming of video content, reading and consulting some PDFs, is a rather light workload for the Oppo Pad Neo.
“I also tried to play but the games I use are very simple“, which means that to put the hardware of this device into difficulty you need something heavier.
We tried to put it into crisis a bit with Ea Sports FC Mobile and Asphalt but the tablet showed no signs of slowing down, with HyperBoost which allows you to intervene by deactivating notifications to concentrate better and above all helping you to choose the most suitable mode between Low consumption, Balanced and Pro Gamer.

In short, in terms of performance it performs very well but that's not the only thing that impressed our external tester: “The display is very nice, especially when you want to watch a movie or TV series. It looks good, the colors are very beautiful and there is space to see. Maybe a smaller screen would be fine for what I do, but I don't mind this big, also because it's not heavy to hold in the hand.”
We add, as mentioned above, that with its 11.4 inches Oppo Pad Neo can also be a good companion for those who want to do a bit of multitaskingperhaps by placing the browser next to a document.
If you then want to go further, you can insert the SIM and be sure of being able to use it to work even on the move, perhaps by combining a keyboard.

Our tester also liked the design, above all for the construction quality and reduced thickness: less than 7 mm.

The battery was also fully promoted: “I don't know how many hours it lasted but I used it for several days, recharging it only a couple of times. For people like me who only use it for two hours a day, in my opinion it's perfect, at least 3-4 days will pass before you need to connect it to the mains. I was just sorry there wasn't a power supply in the box, there's only the cable, but in the end I have at least two or three suitable power supplies so just use one of those.”

A tablet for everyone

Oppo Pad Neo is currently on sale at Oppo Store a 299,99 €a truly attractive price for those looking for a tablet with which it is possible to do a bit of everything: have fun, work, study… It really fits everything and everyone.
Of course, if you are looking for something more powerful and above all a device that supports the pen then Oppo Pad 2 is the one for you but for all the others Pad Neo is a really good choice.
