OPPO will make proprietary SoCs for its smartphones
Following the example of Google and Samsung, OPPO also intends to make Android smartphones with a proprietary SoC. The project, as revealed by‘insider IceUniverseshould materialize by 2024 with the debut of the first smartphone equipped with a proprietary SoC.
It should be noted that the chip on which OPPO is working could be re-proposed by all the companies that are part of the Chinese group BBK Electronics. This group, in addition to OPPO, includes OnePlus (directly managed by OPPO), Realme, Vivo and iQOO. Additional details on the matter should arrive shortly.
