Anticipation is mounting for the Oscar ceremony, which will be held on March 10, 2024. In the meantime, the event is already starting to get talked about. The Italian films that will be nominated for Best Foreign Film nomination have recently been announced. So let’s take a look at the 12 films presented, whose fate we will soon know.
The 12 films | Oscar 2024: here are the Italian films proposed
Here is the complete list of 12 films, entered by their producers, in order to win a statuette. Unfortunately we still cannot get a clear idea of all the proposals, given that some of them are not yet available to the general Italian and foreign public. It will be the task of a selection commission, established at ANICA, to decide which film will have access to this great opportunity. The list of films consists of:

- Stranizza d’amuri by Giuseppe Fiorello

Analyzing some of these films, you can see how our list is full of interesting plots. We have I am CaptainOf Matteo Garrone, story of Seydou and Moussa, two young people who leave Dakar to reach Europe, following a treacherous path through the desert, detention centers and the dangers of the sea. We have then Chimera, Of Alice Rohrwacher story of a young archaeologist who in the 80s finds himself involved in a dangerous illegal trafficking of ancient finds. We also find in the list We Light YearsOf Tiziano Russo, which tells the story of Elsa, a seventeen-year-old girl who is diagnosed with leukemia and immediately needs a bone marrow transplant. In short, a series of very important titles, which bode well for Italy.
We remind you that the announcement of the shortlists for the 2024 Oscars is scheduled for December 21, 2023while the Nominations will be announced on January 23, 2024. The delivery ceremony will instead be held in Los Angeles on March 10, 2024.
