Overwatch 2: off to the beta of PvP, here is the period

After a long wait and very little news on the state of development, the Overwatch 2 team has announced that the first wave of private tests for PvP has started: instead, let’s see the launch period of the first beta open to the public, so as to see when we can get your hands on the game

Attention to Overwatch 2 from the fans is very high. With so many ambitious promises, we’ve hardly ever been able to get a full and regular cycle of updates from the development team so far. Well, in the last official “Developer Update” we talked about just this, along with many other very important things: among these there was also the official announcement of the start of a public beta for PvP of Overwatch 2 (already widely rumored in recent weeks) which will start at end of April. But let’s see all the details below.

Overwatch 2: PvP beta and everything you need to know

As reported by the press release released in the past few hours:

Overwatch is evolving. As a first step towards better communication and regular updates for our community, we are really excited to be able to share some information about our plans for the coming months. We changed our strategy for the release of Overwatch 2, separating the PvP and PvA modes from each other to bring you new PvP content as soon as possible, while we continue to work on the PvA mode.

The first closed alpha test of Overwatch 2 PvP has already begun a few days ago, which includes Blizzard employeesprofessionals of the Overwatch League and some groups selected to help prepare for further testing phases. The first Overwatch 2 PvP beta will begin in late April, on PC and only in select regions. This limited access beta will include a larger group of testers who will be asked for a game feedback. This first beta will include some of the most significant updates since launch, including the new hero Sojourn, the new Escort mode, the 5v5 mode, the changes to the current heroes and the 4 new maps. To register and request access to this beta (which, remember, will start towards the end of April), please contact PlayOverwatch.com.
