Panasonic unveils Lumix S5IIX camera and updates Lumix S5II firmware

After months of anticipation, Panasonic unveil LUMIX S5IIX: One of two groundbreaking innovations that will expand the LUMIX S range of mirrorless cameras starting in May. In addition to announcing the new launch, Panasonic announced that it is in the process of update the firmware of LUMIX S5II.

The LUMIX S5IIX camera arriving in May delivers incredible performance for both stills and movies, to meet the needs of the most ambitious photographers and videographers.

In addition to ensuring the compatibility with Blackmagic Raw formats (TERROR) e ProRes RAW, Lumix S5IIX guarantees ease of use and better quality than the most common video formats, with the advantages of RAW recording. The firmware update for the LUMIX S5II model will be available starting June 13, 2023. To enable the functions below, you will need to purchase DMW-SFU2 which has a suggested retail price of €199.99.

With RAW data output via HDMI, with firmware upgrade, LUMIX S5II will enjoy the same Blackmagic RAW functionality of LUMIX S5IIX, plus ProRes RAW.

The update program will also include Live View Composite which will allow users to capture images with long exposure even in daylight hours.

Among other useful advantages, thanks to the update, the LUMIX S5II camera will be able to offer a better user experience by virtue of a series of innovative features that will further improve its performance.
