Let’s start from the base.
How do I create a PayPal account?
Simple: go to paypal.comclick on Sign in and follow the wizard.
Before you start, however, you will have to decide if you need one Personal accountsuitable for normal online shopping and payments, or a Business accounttherefore designed for those who sell online and receive payments.
Once chosen, you will have to enter a mobile number to receive a verification code. You enter it and then proceed with email, name, surname, password, nationality, date of birth and address. You accept the conditions and you have your PayPal account.
You can also associate a card or bank account: click on Wallet, choose Link a bank account or Link a card. This way you can make payments and transfers quickly. If needed, you can transfer the money you have on PayPal to your bank account.

You can do it from any browser by going to paypal.com. Click on Log inenter your email or mobile number, type the password and connect.
Alternatively you can use the smartphone application: also in this case the email or mobile number and password are sufficient. Plus the PayPal app supports biometric authentication systems so you can log in with your face or fingerprint.
The app also allows you to check your balance, send or request money, make donations and view your transaction history.
How payment via PayPal works
You have your account, but now you have to use it.

First of all you must check that the website, e-commerce or store you want to shop on accepts PayPal. Don’t worry: it’s very likely. PayPal is available almost everywhere.
Normally the sites publish it below, but if you are in doubt you can consult the site’s FAQ, otherwise just place the order and check the payment methods during check-out.
If you find PayPal, just select it, enter your email or telephone number and password and choose where to withdraw the money from. You can select a card, a bank account or use your PayPal balance directly. That’s all. A few seconds and you’re done.
All this also allows you to pay without having a debit or credit card handy. Plus you won’t have to enter your card details every time, saving time.
Pay in 3 installments with PayPal
For some time now, PayPal has introduced a feature that you can find during check-out: payment in 3 installments. You can then choose to pay the full amount or select Paga in 3 rate.
It is not an always present option but in the last year it has become increasingly widespread in online stores. Keep in mind that it is available only for adults resident in Italy and that eligibility is subject to PayPal approval. Here you will find all the information.
Consider that it is a loan that must be repaid, therefore make sure you are able to repay before making a commitment.
How does it work? Simple: select the option, indicate the payment method and that’s it.
Pay fines and taxes with PayPal
Did you know you could pay fines and taxes with PayPal?
Go up payPAthe official national platform for payments to the public administration, e add PayPal as a payment method: all you need is your email or telephone number and password.
You can too use IO, the public services app developed and managed by PagoPA. Select PayPal as your payment method and, if you wish, you can set it as your default to simplify future payments.
The procedure is simple: scan the QR code with your smartphone and follow the instructions.
By connecting PayPal to pagoPA you can pay also university fees, car tax, hospital tickets, TARI and much more.
