New news from the world of technology. Phison, Micron and AMD collaborate to usher in the generation of PCIe 5.0 SSDs
New updates from the world of TechGameWorld.com regarding the new one SSD PCIe 5.0. In fact, there will likely be a quick move to PCIe 5.0 this year and we can expect the first new ones SSD quite early. This week at ComputexPhison (click here for more company information) has announced a new partnership with AMD e Micron to build a PCIe Gen 5 ecosystem.
SSD PCIe 5.0 e Controller PS5026-E26
Phison, show your new controller SSD PS5026-E26, which will enable almost twice the performance compared to the previous generation. With PCIe 4.0we have seen the speeds of the M.2 SSD go up to 7,000 MB / s and with PCIe Gen 5 we’ll take another leap. Leading PCIe 5.0 SSDs are expected to have read speeds of up to 13,000 MB / s.
Phison will supply the SSD controller and Micron will look to release new PCIe Gen 5 SSDs under the brand Crucial. AMD will be looking to make improvements to the platform with its upcoming motherboards AM5including new features such as Smart Access Storage to enable even greater performance.
News coming out
During Computex 2022, Phison also has other new products to show off. Among these we have the first SSD PCIe Gen4 BGA which uses the controller PS5021-E21Ta new PCIe Gen4 solution without DRAM. And yet a new technology for data centers and companies, as well as the first PCIe 5.0 Redriver IC to the world certified by PCI-SIG. We should probably be able to see the first PCIe 5 SSDs towards the end of this year, obviously if the situation doesn’t change and everything continues like this.
