The original series ended last 2022, but there is already talk of continuing the story with two Peaky Blinders spin-offs arriving in the next few years
After finishing the series starring Thomas Shelby, played by the masterful and magnetic actor Cillian Murphy, the sixth and final season will be followed by a film that will conclude the story told by the TV series. But be careful, because the good news for fans of the Shelby family doesn’t end here: it seems that the Netflix streaming platform intends to create a franchise on Peaky Blinders, making at least two spin-offs. The original series stars Thomas Shelby, the leader of the British criminal gang called the Peaky Blinders. Now, the two spin-off series should be a sequel series and a prequel series of the original series, according to a Bloomberg report. The sequel series happens decades later the original series, while the prequel series will be about Polly Graythe matriarch of the Shelby crime syndicate.

Obviously, if the streaming platform is successful, Netflix would further expand the Peaky Blinders universe with other spin-offs. We still don’t know much about what to expect from these two projects, but we do know that the sequel series will be set in Bostonindicating that there will be a larger plot for the crime boss Jack Nelson. As we saw in season six, Uncle Jack had strained relationships with the Peaky Blinders and with Tommy. These tense relationships were due to the not at all peaceful relationships that Tommy had with some relatives, namely his cousin Michael Gray and precisely with Jack, being the uncle of Michael’s wife, Gina Gray.
The series Polly Gray obviously it will be a prequel, due to the sad death in 2021 of the actress who played her, Helen McCrory. Precisely the death of the actress became the center of the sixth season, where Aunt Polly was killed off-screen and Michael blames Tommy for what happened. As for the Peaky Blinders movie, series creator Knight has assured that it will still be there, he is finishing writing it and they will shoot it. Despite the creator’s enthusiasm, CIllian Murphy questioned whether the film would be made earlier this year. With news of a sequel series, the film could be the springboard to throw us into the Boston-set series.
