In the past few hours, Atlus has finally announced the release date for the remastered versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden: let’s find out all the details together
The Persona franchise, born from a coast by Shin Megami Tensei (here our review of the fifth chapter!), Has been for years something of a niche, relegated exclusively to a small slice of JRPG fans, and especially to those passionate about the main series. A sort of hybrid, the one proposed by Atlus, between a role-playing game with a purely Japanese style and a life sim, in which we will have to advance the level and improve the equipment of our protagonists, but also make them live the best of their school years. In short: Japan everywhere. The success for the series came with Persona 5 Royal which, thanks to the Italian adaptation and the postponement of Final Fantasy VII Remake, has captured the hearts (pun intended) of many gamers.
And in the wake of this success, Atlus has returned to the office by first announcing the porting of Persona 5 Royal also on the Nintendo Switch, arriving at the end of October, and then the remastered versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. The release date of the latter two has been unveiled today, set for now at 19 gennaio 2023 su Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 e PC. The version of Persona 4 Golden on Steam has already been out for some time and on January 19 Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the titles for free. Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable: some info besides the release date
In Persona 3 Portable you can choose a new sex option for the character, which not only changes their appearance, but also alters some aspects of the story and social links. Also added new difficulty levels and a revisited battle system that will allow you to control all characters, a feature that was once only available from Persona 4 onwards. P3P though will not contain the epilogue story The Answerwhich was originally available in the remastered version of the game called Persona 3 FES.
As for Persona 4 Golden, this version is just the equivalent of Persona 5 Royal, but intended for the fourth installment of the series. New features, social links, audio tracks, story elements, dungeons and much more. In addition, the game also had a sort of asynchronous multiplayer that allowed, through its network, to help other players in battle in the quests in the dungeons. Something in line with Persona 5’s Phantom Thief Alliance, in short.
