An independent studio has launched a petition to convince Warner Bros to give the green light to the making of the 4K remake of the Mortal Kombat Trilogy
The independent studio Eyeballistic has already managed to convince series creator Ed Boon of the goodness of the project. However, it clashed with the legitimate owners of the rights, or Warner Bros. Warner in fact said it was skeptical about the potential commercial results of a possible remake. The study therefore initiated a petition in an attempt to show Warner the public’s interest in one Mortal Kombat Trilogy in 4K.

The original edition of the title dates back to 1996 and combined all the characters of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3 e Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, in one game. In the petition for this new Mortal Kombat Trilogy in 4K, the studio Eyeballistic aims to bring this to light by remastering stage e sprite of the characters in 4K with the help ofUnreal Engine 5. According to the petition’s web page, the study had already met in 2016 the favor of Ed Boon, creator of the series, on the occasion of a deal for a remake of the original Mortal Kombat in HD.
In this new project, the team has had to collide unfortunately against the negative opinion of Warner Bros, rights holders of theIP by Mortal Kombat. According to the latter, the game would fail to sell 100,000 copies necessary to cover the costs of marketing. Hope is therefore placed in this campaign crowdfunding. Through the numerous signatures of enthusiasts the studio could to demonstrate to Warner Bros which is still there interest by the public for this re-edition of classic fighting games.
