Officially presented at EICMA 2021, the partnership between Piaggio and the designer Feng Chen Wang gave life to a special edition of Piaggio 1, the latest innovation of the Pontedera company in the field of electromobility. By exploiting the technical basis of this model, theFeng Chen Wang edition stands out for its exclusive design and some other novelties.
Aesthetically, the designer took care of the decoration of the livery and the colors (in combination) of the saddle and the rest of the Piaggio 1 electric scooter. The result is a special version that stands out for combining the Chinese tradition (the designer’s country of origin) with the characteristic creativity of London.where Feng’s studio and team are located.
Thus, we can see one mixture of green colors that simulates a watercolor, while also elements such as the seat or the wheels are finished in this color. The news does not end there: the series also includes a specific helmet that incorporates the colors of the e-scooter and a streetwear collection to match.
Piaggio 1 Feng Chen Wang, special edition only in design
on a technical level there is no variation, so this Piaggio 1 Feng Chen Wang can be associated with two of the three versions that this model has: Piaggio 1 and Piaggio 1 Active. The first has a 1.2 kW engine which allows it to reach speeds of up to 45 km / h; The Active brings the power to 2 kW, and consequently the maximum speed rises to 60 km / h.
As for the battery, it is also offered in different versions depending on the variant chosen. For example, Piaggio 1 has a 1.4 kWh battery, which allows you to travel 55 km, while the “Active” version, with its 2.4 kWh battery, reaches up to 85 km (always in ECO mode). By using the other two modes, Reverse and Sport, the autonomy and consequent battery life is significantly reduced, respectively to 43 km and 66 km.
Its removable battery from 10 a 15 kg (depending on its capacity) makes things easier, for example, when loading it in work areas. To get a 100% recharge it takes 6 ore using a domestic socket.
For the cycling part, Piaggio has chosen a monotube steel frame, while the suspension system is based on a single-sided fork with a single shock absorber (Vespa and Zip style) and two rear shock absorbers. The braking system has a 175mm front disc and a CBS system for the Active version. The whole is completed with one 5.5-inch color LCD digital screen showing the most relevant information for the rider, a USB port or a hook to hang the bags.
The special edition Feng Chen Wang di Piaggio 1 will be available from April at Piaggio dealers, in version 1 at a price of 2,999 euros and 1 Active at 3,599 euros (fc, VAT included). In practice, 309 euros compared to the “standard” models.
