After introducing empathic research in 12 countries, Pinterest is preparing to release the feature in 11 other territories, including Italy. An important initiative, which aims to improve the emotional well-being of those who feel stressed or anxious. The functionality will in fact tend to suggest to users resources and contents aimed at improving the condition encountered.
How does Pinterest’s empathic search work?
The app that searches for “alarming” content (such as “sad quotes”) will automatically be directed to content that we could define as good vibes. A sort of emotional education, which should never be taken lightly on the web.
“Emotional well-being is a top priority for Pinterest,” he comments Ari Simon, Head of Social Impact and Philanthropy at Pinterest. “An essential component of our mission is to help people create the life they love. This not only applies to Mental Health Month, but always, both on our platform and offline. For several years Pinterest has worked with experts to offer support to people in need. Together we set out to create a more usable experience for our Pinners, which is why we devised empathic research to address a wider range of emotions that people can feel. “
Created with the help of emotional health experts from Phone Friend Italyempathic research covers a broader emotional spectrum than Pinners’ research, but is not intended to replace any type of professional psychological help.
The feature is already active in 12 countries, and will arrive next week in 11 more. These are: France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.
