It almost seems like an impossible collaboration, yet that’s what happened between Porsche and Square Enix. The two companies would have in fact collaborated to create a Porsche 911 from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth!
The idea would have started from the collaboration between Porsche AG and Square Enix with which they produced the short film Driven by Dreams, in which the game’s creators talk about the work they put into its creation and the original design for Final Fantasy VII. This is a revisited video game, with new additions and new game mechanics, you can find everything in this article. After creating this short film together, the two companies collaborated once again to create this special Porsche 911 with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth themed livery. A very nice idea, ideal both for those who love cars and for those who love video games.
The idea behind the Porsche 911 from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
As we said, this is a car made in collaboration between the two companies after making the short film together Driven by Dreams. In this short film we see the creative director of the game, Tetsuya Nomurathe producer Yoshinori Kitase and the director Naoki Hamaguchi who drive through the streets of Tokyo in two Porsche 911s to talk about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the game’s legacy. To celebrate their collaboration, the Porsche Experience Centre of Los Angeles added a game-themed livery.
The Porsche team explained that they had took inspiration from dreamers like the team at Square Enix to celebrate their work with their new title, an additional story to the remake of Final Fantasy VII. This game was voted the most anticipated game of 2024 at the Game Awards. One of the game is now available free demo divided into two parts and allows players to discover both the initial chapter and a preview of the open world. You can also transfer your save data from the demo to the full game once you purchase it.
