The new Macan is the first Porsche four-door sports car to carry the letter T, previously only used on the 911 and 718 models. For Porsche models, the letter T has stood for unique driving dynamics since the 1960s. The “Touring” T defines models that offer a top driving experience, with special tuning, unique equipment and particularly efficient engines.
Staying true to the spirit of the 1968 Porsche 911 T, the New Macan T positions itself between the Macan and Macan S, with an extremely dynamic suspension and an ultra-light two-liter turbocharged engine.an athletic design and a rich standard equipment that lead to sporty driving.
Compared to the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine of the Macan S and GTS models, the powertrain that powers the Macan T is 58.8 kg lighter on the front axle.
This offers 265 hp (195 kW) of power and 400 Nm of torque, and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and an all-wheel drive system called Porsche Traction Management (PTM). The latter works in harmony with the engine and supports driving performance with quick gear changes. The Macan T will certainly not disappoint speed lovers as it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 232 km / h.
Porsche Macan T, steel suspension makes its standard debut
The Macan T is the only Porsche model to have steel suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard and is getting ready to hit the road with a body lowered by 15 mm.
Function too Porsche Traction Management (PTM) it has been specially adapted to work on the rear axle according to the driving characteristics of the model in question. Also, as a new feature, the PASM suspension is lowered by 10mm, while the adaptive pneumatic suspension is among the optional equipment. In addition, the Porsche Torque Vectoring System Plus (PTV Plus) is also offered as an option.
As for the design, the special contrast is undoubtedly outstanding, which is also used on the front dashboard, side mirrors, sides, roof spoiler and rear logos. Sports exhausts and side window trims in high-gloss black are offered as standard. while the “Macan T” logo, also in black, is present on the sides. 20-inch Macan S rims in dark titanium are offered as standard. There are 13 different color options for the bodywork which are subdivided in turn, between opaque, metallic and special.
The electric and heated eight-way sports front seats, offered as standard in the interior design of the Macan T model, they come with special upholstery along with the black leather package. The center of the front seats and rear seats feature the Sport-Tex Stripe motif, while both front headrests have an embossed Porsche logo. The special color that creates a contrast in the exterior design continues inside the vehicle in the form of silver decorative stitching on the seats, headrests and steering wheel.
The standard equipment includes also a multifunction and heated GT sports steering wheel and a Sport Chrono watch at the top of the dashboard. The door sills are finished in standard black aluminum and feature a Macan T logo. The GT Race-Tex multifunction sports steering wheel with carbon upholstery is also available as an option.
The Macan T also features new elements such as a new glass-like, touch-sensitive surface center console, an online navigation system with 10.9-inch touchscreen and Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
Availability and prices
Porsche offers the Macan T at a price starting from 73.274 euro, inclusive of VAT and country specific equipment. The new model can be ordered immediately. Deliveries in Italy will begin in May 2022.
