PICO, a brand that certainly needs no introduction in the VR device sector, is about to open the pre-order of PICO 4. This is the latest device of the company, a new generation Virtual Reality headset, which aims to combine comfort and performance. The announcement came directly from Henry Zhou, President of PICOwho stated:
“We are delighted to announce PICO 4, our best VR headset, to deliver engaging and interactive experiences with even more diverse content across games, fitness and video.”
The headset will officially arrive on the European market on October 18, but from next week it will be possible to pre-purchase it.
The features of PICO 4: the lightest VR headset ever
The device will be equipped with chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2and will integrate Pancake Optics with a display a 4K+ resolution e 1,200 PPI with 90Hz refresh rate. The high performance battery it will guarantee an autonomy of up to 3 hours with support for fast charging. The bezel of the head-mounted display (HMD) is characterized by four SLAM cameras, for precise tracking of the surrounding environment. At the base there is a powerful 16MP RGB camera, capable of reproducing vivid colors.

The certification TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light it also guarantees maximum comfort and safety even during prolonged gaming sessions. PICO 4 controllers, on the other hand, are characterized by a single one rotating arc structure, with cleverly placed infrared sensors. PICO 4 controllers also support the 6DoFwhich allows you to enjoy a wider range of motion within the virtual environment and a HyperSense broadband engine for a more realistic tactile effect.
Physical activity, entertainment and gaming: many supported activities
With the PICO 4 VR headsets, users will be able to access the vast library of the PICO Store. This includes categories gaming, fitness, video e social. To this must be added the contents of Steam VR, which further expand the activities available.
It will then be possible to train (PICO has its own PICO Fitness program), play VR games and even live musical experiences in the virtual world. With the new device, PICO has in fact announced a partnership with Wavethe world leader in virtual entertainment.
It was also announced PICO Worldscoming in 2023 that will offer a more realistic interaction experience between people thanks to the implementation of an avatar system capable of recognizing more than 80 aspects, as well as exclusive documentaries in collaboration with the Discovery Channel.
