The Italian videogame organization IIDEA made the Princess Peach Showtime presentation event a theater of discussion and inclusion
We are not new to meetings with Video Games Party, but Nintendo Italia with thepresentation event Of Princess Peach Showtime involved IDEA to tie the princess's return to the spotlight to issues of gender equity. Following a girl power opening with the trailer below, it was the trailblazer and star performer Fabrizia Malgieri of Corriere della Sera, who gave the pro player the floor in turn Jessica Armanettiad Ilaria Amodeo of IIDEA, a Francesca Prandoni of Nintendo Italia, a Cristina Nava of Ubisoft Milan and the content creator Roberta “Ckibe” Sorge. Each responded to Malgeri's questions regarding the relationship between the areas of expertise of each and every one feminine sphere.
The IIDEA presentation event: Princess Peach Showtime and video games in pink
Regardless of the Princess Peach Showtime release date (tomorrow, Friday 22 March), the presentation event offered lots of interesting food for thought. 20 years after Super Princess Peach for Nintendo DS, the data on female video games are encouraging: there are 60 million female gamers in Europe between the ages of 6 and 64, with over 5 million in Italy. The goal is to bring this diversity behind the scenes, for the advancement of the sector. The American organization ESA (Entertainment Software Association) found an affinity for a scientific career among younger female gamers in his study The Power of Play, as well as other positive effects which, hopefully, sooner or later our country will also face.
