Rainbow Six Extraction: what to expect from the new Ubisoft game

Rainbow Six Extraction will be available from tomorrow 20 January and for the occasion we have prepared a list of the features that this new chapter of the series Ubisoft carries with it. Without further ado then, let’s take a look at the main features of Rainbow Six Extraction and what to expect from this sci-fi tinged title.

Rainbow Six Extraction: what to expect?

The first thing to keep in mind about Extraction is that it is a total reversal of the classic formula of the game, which from predominantly PvP becomes almost completely PvE. In fact, the core of the game is the cooperative experience, strongly inspired by what is seen in the mode Outbreak by Siege. Even narratively, the game is in continuity with this mode.

In truth, to be precise, we cannot speak of narration in the strict sense, since a real campaign does not have it, but is rather based on a series of raids to be completed to unlock new content such as weapons, areas, operators, and so on. These raids can be tackled in the player’s preferred order, but the difficulty of one area may make you desist from the enterprise in favor of another simpler one.

Particularly interesting in this the mechanics of recovery of the operators: in fact, if one of our operators loses his life on a mission, he will then have to be physically recovered through a second specific mission, while if he suffers too much damage it cannot be used for one or more subsequent raids.

This mechanic is designed to encourage players to take full advantage of all the roster at their disposal, without fossilizing on that handful of classes generally considered to be the best around. It is a choice that we do not doubt will be polarizing, but which can prove useful to gameplay, making users discover the strengths of the various operators that they would not have dreamed otherwise.

Multiplayer and support

Given that it is a video game strongly focused on the multiplayer component it is clear that Rainbow Six Extraction will also have to be evaluated according to how much its playful offer will be able to renew itself and remain current and tasty over the months. It is no coincidence that the development team has already hinted that the game will see numerous updates and limited-time events after its launch.

In particular, the elements that will contribute to Extraction’s long-term success concern the management of its endgame loop and the variety that the latter will offer to the most experienced players.

On the other hand, that of cooperative shooters is a rather rich sub-genre at the moment, so to make its mark, the Ubisoft game will have to be able to distinguish itself in some way from the massas.

It must be said that from the point of view of users this title has an advantage, given that it will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass and that there is the possibility to try it for free for the beauty of 14 days through the buddy pass shared between two users; elements that point greatly towards the will of the software house to create a good starting point.
