Here is the nice idea of a Japanese brand, which customized a Suzuki Alto Lapin to make it look like a timeless classic: let’s discover the Renault 4 Damd!
The classics of the past never go out of fashion: Damd has demonstrated that, with a little imagination and a good starting point, it is possible to re-propose the aesthetics of a true classic from the past combining it with modern technology. In fact, for now it’s just a matter of a customization kit, but this nice idea has already captured the attention of enthusiasts. A signal that nostalgia for certain carsespecially when it comes to practicality and robustness, is still a lot.
Damd is not new to the processing sector, since has already created other kits with an absolutely particular appearance. In fact, the kit to transform the Suzuki Jimny into one has caused quite a stir mini Mercedes G-Classor the one to customize the Daihatsu Taft in stile Land Rover Defender. However, these are not gimmicks to give yourself a much more luxurious looking car, but instead it is a different and very ‘Japanese’ philosophy to experience the automobile, linked to the original concept of ‘kei-car’.
Renault 4 Damd: desire for vintage!
The starting point for creating the Renault 4 Damd is the Suzuki Alto Laplanda modest Japanese small car, costing just over 8,000 euros. The car’s performance remains unchanged even after the transformation: only 64 CVs delivered from the engine, more than enough to move the small hatchback with reasonable agility. It will therefore not be an attractive project for performance lovers, but it will certainly be of interest for vintage lovers and great classics.
The cost of this nice creation will not be exorbitant: Approximately 2,400 euros, to be added to the purchase price of the basic car. In total therefore the price of the ‘finished’ car it will just exceed 10,000 euros, a decidedly accessible figure. The kit supplied by Damd includes various bodywork parts, the distinctive front grille, headlights and taillights. On request it is possible to obtain other details such as round mirrors and Michelotti Dean rims by Crimson, with 155/65/13 tyres. A nice alternative to the wild electrification of new small cars, French and otherwise.
