Renault: after 4 years of decline, sales are increasing

Renault last year it returned to the path of growth. Underlining the “strong acceleration of sales in 2023”, the car manufacturer sees in this the success of a “strong and complementary brand strategy”. Renault has registered a 9% increase in global sales in just one year, ending a four-year period of decline. Furthermore, the brand remains the best-selling French brand in the world, while the group rises to 3rd place among the builders of cars in Europe. Renault has a total of just over 2,235 million vehicles sold in 2022. The brand surpasses group sales with growth of 9.4% and 1,548 million vehicles sold in 2023 all over the world. Its growth reached 19.3% in Europe in just one year. It’s to think that only a year ago Renault announced the fourth consecutive year of decline in registrations: 5.9% in 2022 compared to 2021.

In Europe, the Renault brand ranked third among electric vehicles in 2023 thanks to Mégane E-Tech Electric, which represents 2.2% of the electricity market. This dynamic is supported by a 62% increase in sales of hybrid vehicles (HEV)equal to 185,666 units. To the south, Clio e Captur they have positioned themselves in the top 10 of the best-selling hybrid vehicles in Europe. The group recently declared its intention to launch 2 new 100% electric vehicles in 2024: the E-Tech stagewhich offers more than 600 km of WLTP autonomy, and the Renault 5 E-Tech.

Added to these are 2 new hybrid vehicles in Europe, including the Rafale E-Tech. This year they will be launched in total 10 new models. Renault will present its annual results on February 15, 2024. The manufacturer is targeting a group operating margin of between 7 and 8% and free cash flow greater than or equal to 2.5 billion euros. In short, the 4 years of decline are now behind us.
