In the last few hours, Housemarque has piqued the interest of the community by publishing an enigmatic post that seems to allude to a Returnal DLC
Looking back into the recent past, it is clear that the roguelike shooter’s release Returnal of Housemarque was one of the highlights of the 2021 and, although there is certainly no lack of content in the game, fans of the production in question (and there are several) are clamoring for new content in the form of DLC. Well, the novelty is that Housemarque would seem willing to comply with this request. Let’s see all the details about it in the next lines of this article.
Returnal: a DLC set to your Atropos … or not?
The Finnish developer recently tweeted some sort of cryptic post, showing an image that does not seem at all familiar to those who have had the opportunity to play Returnal and from this very assumption the community has begun to talk about the possible announcement of a DLC. The text accompanying the post simply reads “Atropos…?”, Which may suggest that what is shown in the image is not from the planet the game is set on.

Housemarque alludes to an alleged new expansion of Returnal that won’t take place on Atropo? You can also watch the tweet we talk about in this article and get an idea, it is difficult to be sure what exactly it means since the same is decidedly laconic and vague, but the post is still enough to attract the attention of many players.
Obviously, with the The Game Awards coming soon – and with this year’s show promising to be the most full-bodied ever – there is the possibility that if Sony and Housemarque have plans for a possible DLC, it could choose the showcase in question as an opportunity for the announcement. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Returnal had sold over half a million copies since launch, so clearly there is a large enough player base to warrant releasing new content.
