Il Ragnarok comes across Asgard hundreds of years before his arrival in the official MCU timeline. Following these events, the Tesseract crashes to Earth. Its broken remains have transformed a lake into a portal offering access to a new world. Several members of the Mohawk tribeover the generations, have passed through the portal, gaining powers and immortality from the Tesseract, but in doing so internal feuds were also generated which forced the elders to curse the source. However, this does not stop Kahhori, a new protagonist of the Marvel universe.

Kahhori, a new heroine | Review What If…? 2 episode 6

In this series, as in the first, alternative futures are proposed for the most (or least) beloved characters of the Marvel cinematic universe. In the sixth episode of the second season the protagonist is completely new to the Marvel universe. She is a Native American named Kahoriwho acquires the powers of the Tesseract and is able to use them to return from the paradisiacal place where she is catapulted to her tribe, threatened by the arrival of the Spanish.

Thanks to her new powers, the heroine manages to save her people from slavery and force a peace treaty with the Spanish. The episode, even graphically, is reminiscent Avatar (maybe even a little too much) but it must be said that even in the space of a few minutes he manages to make us passionate about a new character, who certainly completes a classic and now seen and revised parable, but all in all in an intelligent way also for the basic idea of intertwining the story of the invasion of the new continent.

The Return of Strange Supreme | Review What If…? 2 episode 6

Almost immediately after Kahhori and the Mohawk tribe force a peace treaty between the New World and the Spanish, Kahhori is welcomed by Strange Supreme, former member of the Guardians of the Multiverse. It seems like he wants to recruit Kahhori’s help for something that will happen in the future, but it’s unclear why he needs her. As a much darker version of Stephen Strange than the main MCU, it’s hard to say whether Strange Supreme’s intentions will be good or bad. However, it’s clear that something significant is happening to the multiverse, especially after the ending of the previous episode, in which Capitan Carter she was dragged into another reality that took even the Watcher by surprise.

Overall, the episode overall is as good as ever, and the idea of creating a new character is certainly courageous. It must be said at the same time that i time limits of an episode of a TV series they are inevitably important counterweights, so the aim can only be said to have been partially achieved. But already knowing that Kahhori will return, we can wait for a final judgment.

A new heroine for the MCU

Points in favor

  • The courageous choice to introduce a new protagonist
  • The spectacular Avatar style graphics

Points against

  • Too many events in too little time
