Rocket League Sideswipe, the mobile version of the popular multiplayer video game, is officially available for devices Android e iOS. At the moment the title is in “pre season” mode as Season 1 will arrive later, on a date not yet announced. Let’s take a look at the main features of the game as it launches globally.
Rocket League Sideswipe is available worldwide
Rocket League Sideswipe is a free to play game announced last March for mobile devices and is configured as a simplified version of the original Rocket League, first released in 2015. The most obvious difference from the mobile version is that it is a 2D video game and therefore does not offer a three-dimensional stadium in which to run around freely.
The control system is just as simple as it is based on a virtual controller placed on the left of the screen, thanks to which we will be able to perform a plethora of different actions, such as jumping or acceleration. This need for simplification due to the reference hardware has led the developers to modify some of the game mechanics we have become accustomed to over the years.
For example, now players are limited to only two per team and, as if that were not enough, the boost of the various cars regenerates itself automatically over time, eliminating the need to recover the special upgrades within the map. At the moment in Sideswipe there are only two modes, the one that simulates football and the one inspired by basketball.
If you are a lover of the original Rocket League we can only recommend this mobile version of the game, as it transposes a good part of the playful formula that made the game great. Don’t expect the same depth in game mechanics though, since developers had to make sacrifices to land on mobile, as we’ve seen.
