In the past few hours, a new rumor has started circulating on the net according to which Firesprite Studios is working on a Horizon VR game
Horizon Forbidden West is certainly one of the most anticipated Sony exclusives by fans, after the amazing State of Play focused exclusively on the title. There has certainly been a backlash with the controversies due to the next-gen update, which were then resolved with a change of course by Sony, and the now more than obvious postponement made the fans who were waiting for the new one very sorry. Aloy’s adventure as children await Christmas. To add to the Horizon hype, in the past few hours it has started circulating on the net too a new rumor about an exclusive virtual reality title that would be in development at Firesprite Studios, recently acquired by Sony as its 14th proprietary studio.
Following the acquisition, many began to wonder what the studio might be actively working on. During an episode of the Xbox Era podcast, co-founder Nick Baker, who certainly has a good reputation in terms of leak accuracy, announced that Firesprite would be working on a title for the new generation of PSVR. A title dedicated to Aloy, apparently, and that it will not be the virtual reality version of Horizon Zero Dawn or Horizon Forbidden West, but much more simply a separate game in the series.
A Horizon VR game in development?
Baker hasn’t been able to specify whether it will be a full game (like Half-Life: Alyx was for example) for PSVR2, or more a short and concise VR experience. Immediately after the acquisition of the studio, however, PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst had claimed that from Firesprite Studios we will have to expect more experimental titles and different from the rest of the Sony games. And actually the company has a good experience with VR titles, just think of The Playroom and The Persistence.
