According to a new rumor that appeared on the net in these hours, the release date of Starfield, Bethesda’s space-themed RPG, would have been postponed again: let’s find out all the details
With a new upcoming Xbox event, the Xbox Developer Diary, any rumors regarding the house of Redmond and its exclusives are to be taken with a grain of salt more than usual. Especially when it comes to Starfield, highly anticipated RPG set in space that promises to be what we’ve all been waiting for: not The Elder Scrolls VI, but almost in short. After the sensational postponement of last May, which it displaced not only Starfield, but several other Bethesda-branded as well (like Redfall, for example) to a generic 2023, we all remained with our ears raised to catch any news about it. And maybe we are, but there is no good news.
According to what was revealed by a YouTuber, MrMattyPlays, who participated in an episode of the Defining Duke podcast, Starfield would be about to be postponed… again. The sources would be “rather reliable” according to the content creator, but the postponement should not be particularly traumatic. In fact, we would move from the current window of “first part of 2023” to shortly after, perhaps during the summer of 2023, in any case before September.
Starfield release date postponed again?
Given the rather tight schedule of Xbox titles that should arrive over the next few months, it really wouldn’t even be a big surprise. Redfall is expected to release in May, according to recent rumors, while Forza Motorsport and Minecraft Legends are expected to arrive later in the spring. So it would make quite sense move the flagship title of the Redmond house a couple of months further, so as not to bury the other productions.
