Everyone knows the quality of Samsung in producing screens of various sizes for smartphones, smartwatches and televisions. Now, the company is planning to enter a new segment of devices with a very large foldable OLED screen within the next year.

Lo folding screen which we are already starting to talk about should have a size equal to ai 17.3 inches. According to reports, the South Korean company will enter the foldable screen laptop segment next year.
Samsung Display has reportedly aimed to produce 8.5 million OLED panels for laptops in 2023 (43% more than this year). Of these panels, the majority will be supplied to ASUS, which currently uses LG’s foldable OLED panels for its foldable screen laptops.
According to market research firm Omdia, the company is also planning to sell the same 17.3-inch foldable OLED panels to Samsung MXwhich produces branded laptops Galaxy. If this news is confirmed, you may soon have a foldable screen laptop from Samsung.
How much will the folded Samsung screen measure
Samsung Display’s 17.3-inch OLED panel can be folded in half so that each half measures 13.3 inches. This way, the top half of the screen can be used as a display, while the bottom half can be used as a touchscreen keyboard. Also, a Samsung laptop with a foldable screen was supposed to be launched in 2022. However, for unknown reasons, its launch has been delayed until next year.
The numbers of Samsung Displays
Samsung Display has compiled some very important numbers. He has made 960,000 OLED panels for laptops in 2020, 5 million panels in 2021 and 5.94 million units in 2022. Also new is the change of customer: ASUS was Samsung Display’s main customer for OLED screens for laptops, but this year it is been replaced by Samsung MX.
