Intel e Samsung are working on yet another project that could revolutionize the tech sector, a “Sliding” PC with a screen that can stretch out to get bigger. A novelty that left everyone speechless.
Intel and Samsung work on a “sliding” PC
The sliding display pc is the latest innovation launched by Samsung and Intel. Lacking a keyboard, the device looks like a tablet, but with a screen diagonal that goes from 13 inches to 17 inches, making it a full-fledged laptop. A novelty that the CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsingerand the leader of Samsung’s display division, J.S. Choithey showed a Intel Innovationthe conference where the company presented the new 13th generation Intel Core processors.
According to Gelsinger, the new device will meet the needs of at the same time size and portability screen. A demonstration of what is possible with the OLED technology built on a flexible plastic substrate. In reality, however, it is not clear whether the “sliding” PC will really become a product. In any case, it is undeniable that the Samsung and Intel project demonstrates the willingness of the companies to go far beyond the traditional forms of notebooks.
Moving parts and flexible components increase the challenges of complexity and reliability. But costs are also rising, which is a clear concern for a shrinking market. At the same time, innovative designed devices can find an interesting audience niche, especially considering that high-end PCs are being bought more than cheap ones. We will see, therefore, if Samsung and Intel really want to launch this novelty.
