Samsung has now removed the mark WITH from his own foldable phonesthe Galaxy Z Flip3 e Galaxy Z Fold3, in some European countries. At the moment, it can be confirmed that the letter no longer exists on the company’s pages in Lithuania, Estonia e Latvia, with a European-wide purge potentially on the cards. Let’s find out all the details and the reason that prompted Samsung to make this decision.
Samsung changes the name to the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3: the Z brand disappears in Europe
In 2020, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip as its first Z-branded device, with the branding now representing the the company’s line of folding devicestogether with Galaxy Z Fold2 which would debut later in the year. Due to political reasons, however, Samsung appears to be forced to remove the “Z” branding from those phones in some parts of Europe.
In recent days, Samsung has indeed reported that it has removed the “Z” from its pages in Lithuania, Latvia ed Estonia. All three countries are considered to be part of Eastern Europe. Presumably, the company could be forced to do it on all its European pages over the next few weeks.
Samsung appears to have made this decision to show one lack of support for Russian ideals in the midst of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. The Russian military forces have extensively used the “Z” symbol on theequipment since the invasion begana symbol that is generally regarded as a symbol of Russian victory.
Similarly, the use of the “Z” as a symbol was prohibited in Kazakhstan e Kyrgyzstan. Furthermore, it seems that the symbol was also considered a crime in Germany.
So, over the next few weeks, Samsung will be forced to remove the Z mark from its foldable smartphones in all European markets. For more information you can consult the official website of the company.
