Early 2021 Samsung presented its first tracker: Samsung Galaxy SmartTag – and now a new generation is coming. After two years since the launch of the device, it seems that the new Galaxy SmartTag should arrive later this year, probably after the summer.
Samsung Galaxy SmartTag, new generation by 2023

According to SamMobile, it would appear that the Galaxy SmartTag second generation may be launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 5. In fact, they suggest that Samsung is planning to launch the second-generation range of object trackers in the second half of 2023.
At the moment, we don’t know what the improved specifications of the device will be. But it is likely that Samsung will try to improve wireless range, the volume of acoustic signal and security measures to prevent unauthorized tracking.
The launch event of the new Galaxy SmartTag may also see the debut of other wearables such as Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Watch 6. Samsung could also announce new foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. A great event to expand the Galaxy ecosystem in one fell swoop.
At present, Apple is the only company to boast a great sales success in the object tracker segment. Despite Samsung have already launched two object trackers, the company hasn’t had the same success with consumers as Apple has. It seems that Google is also planning to launch its own object tracker in the near future.
In short, launching them together with many new devices could allow Samsung to attract the attention of consumers – to win in this increasingly competitive market.
