Good new for Satispay, which is once again confirmed as the most used tool in digital payments. This was revealed by the Innovative Payments Observatory of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, which highlighted how digital payments in the first half of 2021 are increased by 23% compared to the previous year. The greatest growth would go to the payments from Mobile and Wearable, which reached a transaction volume of € 2.7 billion. So let’s take a closer look at these data.
Satispay continues to grow in 2021
The digital payments sector has experienced exponential growth in the first half of 2021, it is undeniable. And in this context, Satispay has managed to maintain its crucial role, even with respect to notable competitors such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The data indeed show that the service has represented well 30% of the entire digital payments sector, with a number of transactions amounting to 25 million. A figure that reaches 400 million if we consider the volume transacted through non-NFC systems, of which 75% passed directly from Satispay. In short, a very evident success, which does not seem to have suffered too much from the closure of shops.
As the data show, in fact, the company has registered an increase of 284% and 196% respectively on the number of payments and the volume transacted compared to the same period of 2020. And that’s not all. The data from the Observatory show that the average receipt has passed from 18 to 13 €, thus confirming that the effect of the State Cashback has pushed citizens towards electronic transactions. Finally, it is impossible not to consider that at present they are 2 million users who use Satispay. A fact that confirms what has been said so far. On the other hand, let’s not forget that the data reveal that 1 out of 3 mobile payments were made with this system.
