Netflix during its GeekedWeek streamed the final trailer of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, an anime revival of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic book saga
We have reached the end of Netflix Geeked Week 2023 and the well-known streaming platform has just released the latest trailer for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. This anime is based on graphic novel series of the same name, created by Bryan Lee O’Malleybut will see a totally new story.
Fans of this franchise are therefore hyped for this release, scheduled for November 17i.e. next Friday, only on Netflix and worldwide. The anime series features eight episodes in total, with a duration yet to be defined. Working on the animation of this new project is the Science SARU studio, famous for having created anime such as Yo-kai Watch: the film, Devilman Crybaby and many others.

During the film we are shown the Scott and Ramona’s first date, hence their falling in love. This new love, however, will have to overcome the obstacle represented by the girl’s evil ex-boyfriends, one more bizarre than the other, who Scott will have to defeat one after the other.
The story had already been transposed into the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, directed by Edgar Wright and released in 2010 which, despite being a heavy flop at the box office at the time, has become a real one over the years cult phenomenon. For the anime series, the entire original cast of Wright’s film will return, that is Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aubrey Plaza, Jason Schwartzman, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Allison Pill e Brandon Routh. The story of how this cast came together to bring Scott Pilgrim Takes Off to life is truly bizarre and most likely, without this series of events this long-awaited anime would not have been created.
