The rapid growth and popularity of Formula 1 goes hand in hand with the growth of the collectibles market. Demand for sports memorabilia has more than doubled globally on Catawiki since 2019.

When it comes to motorsport memorabilia, Italian sellers have sold over 16 times more than they did 4 years ago, thanks to the spectacle brought by F1 to the homes of more and more people.

The STR11 is the highlight of the the first one online; the same car that raced in the 2016 season, when Scuderia Toro Rosso scored 63 points thanks to the successes of its drivers Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat. The bull painted by Jos Pirkner on the bonnet was the first of its kind seen on any F1 livery, giving the car an artistic and dynamic look.

Probably the big one Catawiki’s strength comes from its stories. In this event we were able to enjoy a unique experience, we visited AlphaTauri factory, opened to the press for the first time in historybut not only.

During these two days full of events but also of convivial moments and sharing, we got a clear idea of the company but above all of who makes it unique.

Catawiki hides a number of stories that lightly digging will come to light. The experts ready to advise and evaluate (and certify) the objects for sale through auctions often have a past and a present of collectors and enthusiasts.

Some sellers have turned their simple passion into a profitable profession so unexpected as to exceed any wildest expectation.
