The “chronic” need for new role-playing games for fans of the genre will also be satisfied by Sea of Stars, coming to Nintendo Switch and beyond
The creators of The Messenger have announced a very promising RPG set in the same universe: Sea of Stars is so impressive that the presentation of the upcoming titles on Nintendo Switch made it his opening number. We have already talked about it well in our summary of the latest Indie World, but perhaps the user of the hybrid console may not be the only one to rejoice. It is indeed possible that in the months to come, before the release date scheduled for next winter, we will find out about additional platforms. This is quite understandable, given that the Kickstarter it is still open.
And so we went out to see the stars again: the celestial sea of Sea of Stars, only on Nintendo Switch?
On Kickstarter, the Sea of Stars developers confirmed that thewinter 2022 is the “expected” release period for the Nintendo Switch release; not for this, however, Sabotage Studio it intends… sabotaging itself (pun inevitable) with a patchy development. In addition, since the concept of “winter 2022” is cryptic, the team wanted to clarify: “we mean that the game will be released in about a year”. The exact date will be announced next year, “as soon as it becomes clear that the game will be at the same quality standards that we have set ourselves. We will not compromise on this. “
The other platforms will be announced there next spring. After their confirmation, the development team will send a survey to those who funded the game on Kickstarter to ask for their preferences on the delivery address for physical copies, the chosen console and the name to use in the credits for thanks. . The trailer above shows the combat a little better, integrating combos and timing to fix enemies. Virtually identical to Chrono Trigger, whose composer will return for the occasion, there are no random encounters: the turn-based battles take place on the map. “Each shot” of the trailer, Sabotage reassures, “represents only a small part of the game and was chosen to give a general idea of the premise without making spoilers.”
