Konami’s about-face on the pyramidal antagonist: in the remake of Silent Hill 2 there will be no discussion of the genesis of the scary Pyramid Head
“And then” there is Konamiwhich is in the midst of the hype for a very crowded edition of the Game Awards brake on the recent rumor in which the remake of Silent Hill 2 should have included the origins of Pyramid Head. The publisher, in tandem with the development team Bloober Teamhas maintained a decidedly… dead press silence since the announcement of the game last October (meaning last year, let’s be clear), but apparently the one I got from Best Buy was a blunder. The iconic (and, credit to credit, terrifying) antagonist will therefore keep his origin story shrouded in mystery for a while longer, which for fans of the unfortunate but beloved horror series will probably translate into several years.

Konami’s denial about the remake not yet out: goodbye origins for Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2?
Knowing full well how denials and no-comments work, it’s possible that Konami is simply challenging the Streisand effect, but we wouldn’t put our hand in the fire. As you see in tweet above, in fact, the Japanese publisher has officially defined the information on the Best Buy page for the game as “incorrect”. Bloober Team stated several times last year that the game is practically complete, so… Game Awards, Right? Considering that for R-rated titles there will most likely be Grand Theft Auto VI to keep them good company, we reserve the right not to be surprised in the presence of the trailer.
