Slitherine just closed an extraordinary year with a second Home of Wargamers live event, announcing some new games. A few days after posting Warhammer 40,000 Battlesector on Xbox, Windows and PlayStation with great success, the British publisher comes forward again. Let’s take a look at what’s new.
Slitherine: Three new games announced and more
Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance
Slitherine and Skydance Media have announced the development of Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance, a new real-time strategy game set within the Terminator franchise. The game follows the war between humanity and Legion’s network of synthetic intelligent machines.
In the single-player campaign, players take on the role of a commander of the Founders faction and lead their army to thwart Legion’s plan to destroy humanity. Three very different factions are available in the skirmish and multiplayer modes: Founders, Legion and Resistance. The game will be released on PC in 2022.
Headquarters World War II
Slitherine also announced Headquarters World War II, a new platoon-level turn-based wargame set in the aftermath of the Normandy landings. Headquarters World War II is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game in which your tactics on the battlefield are as important as your army management skills.
Experience both sides of the war, fighting in Europe as well as in the United States, the United Kingdom or Germany. Assault bunkers, occupy houses, win tank duels or set up ambushes for enemy armor. All units and scenarios are created with the utmost attention to detail using Unreal Engine 4 to achieve a very realistic visual style with cutting-edge graphics. HeadQuarters World War II will be available in 2022 for both PC and console.
Modern Naval Warfare
Finally it was the turn of Modern Naval Warfare, the new generation of nuclear submarine simulators. Players will take command of a USS Virginia-class submarine in the dark and unforgiving world of the modern, high-tech naval battlefield.
Track your enemies, avoid patrols and mines, participate in covert operations, battle your way with torpedoes and unleash devastating cruise missile attacks. Modern Naval Warfare will be released on PC in 2022, with additional support for virtual reality.
Stargate: Timekeepers
The publisher also showed, for the first time, the gameplay of Stargate: Timekeepers. The title developed by Creative Forge and produced with MGM Studios, is a tactical game in which players lead a team of specialists through a story driven campaign set in the universe of Stargate SG-1.
Players must sneak a newly formed team behind enemy lines, use their characters’ unique abilities, create the perfect plan to unravel a time cycle mystery, and defeat the Goa’uld menace. Stargate: Timekeepers starts from the end of season 7 of the main storyline of Stargate SG-1 to create an original story, which takes place across 14 narrative-rich missions. The game will be released on PC in 2022.
