Qualcomm announced the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the primi benchmark to test its capabilities. The results are similar to the basic version, although the 3D rendering tests make an appreciable qualitative leap.

The new processor offre 200MHz plus maximum performance, so not really a generational leap. But enough to attract an audience of gamers and power users who will be able to use this per device to the max. Phone Arena has therefore created some benchmarks to immediately give the idea of the new performance shot.
They tested the processor on a testing kit Asus ROG, not on a real smartphone. So we don’t have an actual idea of usage with this device. But instead an idea of the brute power of this product we can do it all right.
Compared to the previous generation, there are no incredible leaps. In the tests of GFXBench on the contrary, it obtained slightly lower results, albeit negligible. In Geekbench 5 had an improvement in both single core (1313 instead of 1242) and multicore (4147 instead of 3538). In tests 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test at the highest point it obtained an advantage of 2788 to 2551. But the leap in quality is the lowest result of this test, where it reaches 1928 instead of 1226.
This latest test haunts the smartphone with 20 graphically dense loops. The version Plus did better even in its maximum peak, then demonstrating a better overall seal.
This test cannot tell us everything: before actually evaluating the benchmark results we should test them on a smartphone. But it shows the power of the new processor quite well, although some issues (smartphone heating, for example) will have to be evaluated once we can test a smartphone with the new chip.
Those of Phone Arena have tested Apex Legends Mobile, with excellent performance in ExtremeHD at 60 fps, with anti-aliasing. So we expect all the best game phones to make the most of this new power. We will let you know in person how this smartphone performs when we will be able to test it on an outgoing smartphone.
