Who is the most popular and beloved hedgehog in the gaming universe? Don’t answer, it’s a rhetorical question. And for fans of that delicious and very fast blue hedgehog comes great news: Sonic Origins Plus. It is a collection announced today by SEGA that collects all 12 legendary Sonic chapters.
The collection is effectively an extension of Sonic Origins, the collection released in 2022, which expands with all 12 Sonic titles for the Game Gear. Players will then be able to play as Sonic (and hair) in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles™, and Sonic CD™, as well as the ability to play as Knuckles in Sonic CD.
Sonic Origins Plus will come in digital and physical editions
Sonic Origins Plus will be available from 23 June 2023, in celebration of Sonic’s birthday. The collection will be available in both digital and physical editions. Those who have already purchased Sonic Origins will be able to purchase the Plus expansion for €9.99. The expansion includes:
- DLC per passare a Sonic Origins Plus
- 12 Game Gear games emulated and accessible from the Museum
- Ability to play as Amy in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Sonic CD
- Ability to play as Knuckles in Sonic CD
- All previously released Sonic Origins DLCs
For those who do not own the base game, however, they can buy Sonic Origins Plus at the price of € 39.99 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Specifically thedigital edition includes:
- Main game
- 12 Game Gear games emulated and accessible from the Museum
- Ability to play as Amy in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Sonic CD
- Ability to play as Knuckles in Sonic CD
- All previously released Sonic Origins DLCs
The physical edition, also this at the price of € 39.99, includes:
