Sony recently announced the closure of the PlayStation (PS) Plus Collection su PS5. This means that i 19 free video games currently available, once the service is terminated, they can no longer be redeemed for free. Let’s find out all the details together.
Sony announces the closure of the PlayStation Plus Collection
In its most recent announcement, Sony communicated the closure of the PS Plus Collection. Players will have until 9 maggio 2023 to enjoy its benefits, by redeeming for free 19 video games. After that date, the players they will no longer be able to play video games on the service.
Of course, it is possible buy PS Plus Collection games directly from the PlayStation Store. However, with 19 games listedwe think it could be more advantageous subscribe to PS Plus and redeem the games before the offer and service are permanently terminated.
This means that if you subscribe to the serviceif you later redeem the video games, you will still be able to play them even if the service will be closed. We repeat: obviously it is necessary subscribe to be able to redeem them, but it’s still better than buying the 19 games.

- Battlefield 1
- Bloodborne
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Zombie Chronicles Edition)
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- Days Gone

- Final Fantasy 15
- God of War
- Infamous Second Son
- Monster Hunter World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Ratchet and Clank
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Until Dawn
Persona 5 was part of this list, but was removed a short time ago. As you can see, many of these games are worth it hundreds of hours of gameplay. If you are interested in trying any of them, be sure to redeem them before May 9, 2023.
In its announcement, Sony did not explain the reason for closing the service. It’s possible that since the service has been around for 3 years, Sony thought gamers had already more games to play on the PlayStation 5. Of course, this is just one theory. Until Sony itself says something, we won’t know for sure.
