Sales of the PlayStation 5 are good, according to Sony
As revealed during the call with analysts and shareholders for the fiscal year, which ended on March 31Sony talked about the PlayStation 5 sales figures. The next generation console continues to achieve excellent results despite the constant semiconductor crisis. The company also revealed that, albeit slowly, they are also growing PlayStation 4 sales.
The data shared by Sony during the call reveal that PlayStation 5 has reached altitude 19.3 million units sold worldwide; PlayStation 4, on the other hand, has reached an altitude 117.2 million total units. The numbers collected at the close of FY 2021 see PlayStation 5 record a +2 million in the last three months it’s a +0.1 million per PlayStation 4.
Overall PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 have sold together 70.5 million units in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2021, or 9.1 million more compared to the past year.
The one who is offering a rather low performance is the PlayStation Plus service.
Currently the users subscribed to the PS Plus are about 47.4 million (dated March 31, 2022), about 0.2 million less compared to the 47.6 million recorded in the same period last fiscal year. We know that starting in June the service will join PlayStation Now, offering users a new, renewed and complete service. Will this new service be able to bring more users to Sony’s side?
